Acrylatex Coatings & Recycling, Inc. a certified Southern California latex paint recycle facility has begun a launch of their new product called “Azuza Soft Rock.” While it is still legal to dispose of dried latex paint (Latex Paint Aggregate or LPA) into landfills, and most all other latex recycling facilities continue to do so, Acrylatex Coatings & Recycling, Inc. having a strong environmental commitment has developed a method to turn this waste into a renewable resource called “Azuza Soft Rock.”
Using a patent pending technology, Acrylatex processes all of their collected LPA (the dried and hardened material found at the bottom of paint cans) and gives it new life to keep it out landfills. The process
involves taking unwanted LPA and turning it into a colorful decorative ground cover that simulates the texture of pea gravel, but is much lighter and much more colorful than natural gravel.
“We wanted to remain true to our motto of “Giving Paint a Second Chance” not only for our recycled architectural paints which we distribute under our own “Life-Cycle” and “Tag-Out” brands, but even the dried latex paint as well” said Gary Erb, Sales Manager of Acrylatex. “We recycle close to 100% of everything we take collect including the metal cans, plastic pails, wash water, pallets and now Latex Paint Aggregate is recycled too.”
Azuza Soft Rock is available in 55-lb bags and comes in five variations of variegated colors that blend with most any landscape theme while helping to retain ground moisture around plants, assists in retarding weed growth while offering natural beauty in planters, walkways or just about any area that needs to be enhanced by the look of gravel. It’s definitely a perfect alternative to heavy natural rock, wood mulch, wood bark, wood shavings, pea gravel, sand or grass.
Azuza Soft Rock is also easy to handle, easy to spread, soft to walk on and for larger projects can be manufactured in custom colors to accent specific décor themes both inside and out at casinos, amusement parks, shopping malls as well as corporate and government buildings.
